Our tips
- Winter tyres or snow chains are compulsory in the Vercors from 1 November to 31 March (under the loi Montagne, the French mountain law). The road to the chalet is cleared all winter.
- Buy your lift passes online a few days ahead: they are up to 20% cheaper than at the ticket office.
- The free village shuttles go up to the Balcon de Villard and Bois Barbu: handy for avoiding the packed car parks on Sundays.
- Outside French school holidays, low-season prices bring the adult pass down from €46 to €36, and the slopes are almost empty.
